The Kuya Team

As a Project Kuya team, we'd like to introduce you to some people that will be putting everything together for our 2017 humanitarian trip. We meet on a weekly basis to discuss all of the travel plans, donations, and more to keep Project Kuya moving forward. Each of us have lived in the Philippines and have a huge desire to help them as much as possible. Between the three of us, we've lived in almost 20 different areas on the islands of Cebu and Negros. We all met while living in the Philippines and our love for the people has helped us grow closer as a team.

Name: Robin Uata

From: Provo, Utah

Areas: Bayawan, Siaton, Casoy, Busay, Vallehermoso, Minglanilla, Zamboanguita, and Kamputhaw

So let's start with me! I'm the creator of Project Kuya and also Kuya clothing. So that makes me the boss man a.k.a. the King B. Haha. I take the reins for all the humanitarian efforts, fundraising, fashion designs, and social media. It's definitely a handful, but Dylan and Maddie with all of that to help lighten the load.

Name: Madelaine Littell

From: West Valley City, Utah

Areas: Bacong, Siaton, Mabolo, Sibonga, Valencia, and Lahug

Maddie does so much research for the humanitarian work that we're doing so that we can eventually become an official non-profit organization. She's going to help out a ton with travel plans and will help manage all donations that will be coming in this year. Maddie came along in 2016 for our first Project Kuya trip and has done so much to help plan for the 2017 trip.

Name: Dylan Staheli

From: Saint George, Utah

Areas: Pinamungajan, Labangon, Bais, Bayawan, Guihulngan, Kamputhaw, Mabini, and Dumaguete

Dylan and I go way back! Fun fact, he was actually the first person I ever told about Project Kuya and he's been supportive ever since. He helped me organize the 2016 Project Kuya trip and will be helping us this year and will be focusing on assisting with videography. He'll be taking the lead by helping us put together videos for interviews so that we can share some of our personal experiences while living in the Philippines.

Overall, we have an amazing team of people that want to do as much good as possible. I've been extremely fortunate to work with Maddie and Dylan to help the Filipino people. I couldn't be more excited for our 2017 trip and everything we have to look forward to! We have so many people planning to come on this trip to help, and we can't wait to introduce you to them on the blog as we get ready for May 2017!

Shoutout to Afa Ah Loo for the amazing photos. Make sure to give him a follow on Instagram.
