I’m stoked to be a part of Project Kuya’s humanitarian project this year! Ever since the creation of this project I couldn’t stop thinking of how this would benefit and bless the lives of so many people whom I so dearly love and appreciate. So I’m very grateful to be a part of it this year. Filipinos genuinely care and are well known for their hospitality. This is something that cannot be taught and understood until you are with them.

Now there are two things I love…. Singing and Filipino’s, and Filipinos love to SING! I didn’t know many people who love to sing as much as I do until I went over to the Philippines. They make everything enjoyable. It’s so hard to not have fun in the Philippines. Even in the most poverty stricken areas, you will see people singing and enjoying themselves because they choose to be happy. This is such a valuable lesson that I have carried with me ever since. They make the most of what they have and Project Kuya reflects that.

I remember a time when me and a few other recording artists were rushing back from our residence to the studio and I made a quick stop by the bakery (because Pan De Coco is my go-to haha) and I passed one over to a youngster to eat and he waited for me to leave before even attempting to take a bite. I glimpsed back and noticed him breaking it into pieces to give to each of his friends. This is the same mentality that Project Kuya has, to give and share with others.

There is so much to gain from a place with yet so little. There is nothing that I can do to help you fathom how beautiful the hearts of the Filipino people are. The donated items to Project Kuya will help these people in many ways and will hopefully show them that we care. I also really look forward to spending time and creating new friendships with these people. They deserve this.
